Great Guana Cay is approximately seven miles long with a spectacular beach on the ocean side that offers swimming, snorkeling and beach combing. There is excellent fishing on the reefs and offshore. The settlement is picturesque in the harbour of the island.
Guana Cay is where you come if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Walk the several miles long beach where you see only a few people, or snorkel, swim or scuba dive. You can rent a bicycle or a golf cart to get around. Guana Cay has many restaurants and bars, souvenir stores, a grocery store, a liquor store and a drug store.

It was during the 1820's that the settlement were established on Great Guana Cay. Today, Guana Cay has 150 local inhabitants and about 200 second home owners. Most of the second home owners come and go. Abaco is located only 185 miles east of West Palm Beach, so it is no wonder that this beautiful island is a popular goal for people arriving by boat or ferry, wanting a different experience. It feels like the world spins slower in Guana Cay. People have time to stop and chat.
